AQS on an off-white 4.25 x 2 slip affixed to the lower portion of a 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet card portrait of Clemens by J. G. Gessford. Quote reads, in full: “Let us save the to-morrows for work. Truly yours, Mark Twain,” and inscribing at the bottom, “Mrs. H. W. Marsh, Feb. 20/08.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered toning to slip, not affecting the boldly penned quote or signature. In 1905, Henry W. Marsh and Donald R. McLennan formed Burrows, Marsh & McLennan in Chicago becoming the world's largest insurance agency. It was renamed Marsh & McLennan in 1906. An ever-desirable satiric example of Twain's trademark tone. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
