Description

Richard Nixon

TLS as president signed “RN,” one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, August 14, 1973. Letter to Samuel F. Pryor, in part: “Barnee Breeskin was thoughtful enough to forward me a copy of your statement in the Greenwich Time, and I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed reading it. Pressed as we all are with so many day-to-day demands, it is indeed easy to forget the beauties of this earth and the great progress we have made as a people, I appreciate your reminding us of the innumerable benefits and blessings we share as Americans.” In fine condition, with minor scattered creasing and a few trivial spots of toning. Faced with impeachment and removal from office, Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974, almost an exact year from the date this letter was signed. The former director and president of the Appalachian Mountain Club, Pryor was instrumental in bringing the group national recognition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA.
