James Wilkinson

American soldier and statesman (1757–1825) associated with several scandals and controversies, who after his death was discovered to have been a paid agent of the Spanish Crown. ALS signed “Ja. Wilkinson,” one page, 7.75 x 8.25, no date. Letter to a gentleman concerning a deed, regarding documents that “may be necessary to secure to me the property within named.” Mounted and framed against a mat with an engraved portrait of Wilkinson to an overall size of 17.75 x 13. In fine condition, with intersecting folds and scattered staining. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
