Description

Vivid original color 30.5 x 41 World War I poster from 1919, featuring artwork by Clyde Forsythe that shows a triumphant American soldier holding three German helmets as trophies of war. Black text in the upper right reads, “And they thought we couldn't fight,” with prominent red text across the bottom reading, “Victory Liberty Loan.” Printed in the bottom border is “5-C” and “Ketterlinus, Phila.” Poster has been professionally linen-backed to a slightly larger size. In very good condition, with several smoothed intersecting folds and a large diagonal crease to the lower left. RR Auction COA.
