ALS signed “Clara,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, July 26, 1945. Letter to her friend. In part: “The doctor is afraid I am going to have to undergo an operation…I told you about my ovaries not functioning correctly for a long time—well they are now swollen three times the normal size and I suffer bad cramps most of the time…so Dr. says if the condition don’t clear up soon he will have to remove the ovaries…Sorry your train ride was so boring—I thought that young sailor might liven things up for you—but on second thought he seemed almost dead with sleep.” In fine condition, with a few small edge tears. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Bow’s hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
