Collection of 15 TLSs, all to FBI employees John and Stella Davis, various sizes, ranging in date from 1940 to 1948, all on FBI letterhead and all signed by Hoover. John Davis was a fingerprint classifier, and Stella Davis was a clerk-typist and defense reviewer. Letters contain FBI content pertaining to employment, promotions, and salary upgrades, with several of the letters marked “personal and confidential.” Also included are ten letters with printed signatures, several original transmittal envelopes, a few letters from other FBI personnel to the Davises, and three Western Union telegrams.
