The ALS is dated 1943 and concerns a theatrical production, in part: “Last week here Fred Stone made the record of the season to date…we are a great success at last. Tomorrow is a sold out matinee which is quite unusual. Documents include: a loan agreement to fund a theatrical production, signed by Swanson and Francis Lederer; a DBA document filing for a company named Three Curtains Associates, signed by Swanson and Lederer; an AGVA employment contract for Swanson to appear in Arthur Wing Pinero’s sketch entitled the ‘Playgoer,’ signed twice by Swanson; a financial document related to a production, signed by Swanson and Lederer; a Theatrical Wardrobe Attendants Union contract, signed by Swanson and Lederer; and a legal document signed by Swanson. The balance of the archive consists of letters, telegrams, and documents (none signed by Swanson), concerning representation, finances, legal issues, theatre productions, and business activities.
