Description

“I have a terrible fear my future connection with horses will be by way of pictures & not in the flesh”

ALS signed “Ron,” one page, 8.5 x 11, West Coast Latvian Song Festival letterhead, dated May 17, 1967. Letter to Colonel F. W. Koester. In part: “It was good to hear from you and you were very kind to send me the snapshot. Sometimes I have a terrible fear my future connection with horses will be by way of pictures & not in the flesh. We had tough luck losing our one foal this year—a fine colt by Dodger Blue. I’m hopeful I’ll be signing the Racing legislation one of these days soon.” His secretary noted the date in the upper right, and penned the recipient's name and address in the lower left. In fine condition, with scattered wrinkling, and a bit of mild toning along top. Reagan’s decades-long affinity for horses and riding was well-known, keeping several at his Santa Barbara ranch. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
