Character actor (1905–2007) who appeared in such classics as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It's a Wonderful Life. ALS signed “Charles,” one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead from the ‘Karen’ TV show, July 22, 1975. Letter to film historians Victor Scherle and William Turner Levy. In part: “Thanks so much for the stills from the old Capra pictures. They are already on my wall joining the nostalgia of past years. It's really incredible we were all that young. I was sorry ‘Karen’ wasn’t picked up for another season…Karen Valentine was an absolute delight to work with. An exceptional woman. ‘Love Nest’ still remains the mystery of the year. What I mean is—why CBS didn’t go on with it. No one seems to know. It had all the earmarks of a big hit??? The workings of the network mind is sometimes hard to fathom.” In fine condition, with light toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
