Desirable document from the assassinated French monarch

King of France (born 1551), the son of Henry II and Catherine de Medici, who reigned from 1574 until his assassination in 1589. Vellum manuscript DS in French, signed “Henry,” one page, 14 x 8.5, no date. Untranslated. Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait of the king to an overall size of 27 x 15. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), scattered creases and light staining, a cut to the lower right, and Henry’s signature a shade or two light. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
