Description

Earl ‘Bud’ Powell

Jazz pianist (1924–1966) influential in the development of bebop. Memorial Oscar Pettiford Vol. 16 album signed and inscribed on the back cover in black felt tip, “Happy Birthday to Lawrence, Bud Powell,” and signed again on the front. In good condition, with scattered mounting remnants to reverse (some lightly affecting portions of signature and inscription), old tape toning, scattered creases, staining to front cover, and a crossed out notation to top left of front corner. The record is included. Provenance: The Larry Rafferty Collection. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
