British inventor and photography pioneer (1800–1877) who introduced the calotype process in 1841; he was also active in politics, serving as a member of Parliament between 1832 and 1835. Rare ALS signed “W. H. Fox Talbot, F. R. S.,” one page, 4.5 x 7, personal letterhead, July 1, 1867. Letter to a gentleman.
