Collection of four items, all personally-owned and -worn by Grace Coolidge: a black mourning veil personally-owned and -worn by Grace Coolidge during the period following the death of President Warren G. Harding; two gorgeous swatches of red velvet cloth from the train of First Lady Coolidge’s dress, as seen in the official White House portrait of her by Howard Chandler Christy that still hangs in the Executive Mansion; and an ornate metal filigree and jade belt buckle personally-owned and -worn by the first lady. All in fine condition. Includes detailed letters of provenance on White House letterhead from Lillian Rogers Parks, who was a best selling author as well as housekeeper and seamstress at the White House for over 30 years, from President Hoover through President Eisenhower.
