The “Mary” in ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’

The girl who inspired the nursery rhyme ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ after she brought her pet lamb to school one day. Ink signature, “Mary E. Tyler, Somerville, Mass., Oct. 18, 1888,” on an off-white 3 x 2 card. Nicely double-matted and framed with the original mailing envelope (filled out in her own hand) and an illustration of the song to an overall size of 15.5 x 12.5. In fine condition.
