President Dwight D. and Mrs. Eisenhower’s personally-owned and -used bowl. Large ceramic bowl measures 10″ in diameter, has two hand-painted United States seals painted on the outside, along with blooming flowers, and a hand-painted border around the inside, below the gold-bordered rim. Bottom of the bowl is marked, “Decorated in Hong Kong,” and also bears two small inventory labels. Accompanied by a 1985 letter of authenticity, on a White House card, from Dolores Moaney, the Eisenhower’s personal cook and the wife of President Eisenhower’s valet, Sgt. John Moaney. Letter reads, in part: “The large bowl with two hand-painted eagles on it was owned and used by President and Mrs. Eisenhower. My husband, Sgt. John Moaney was the President’s valet. And, I was their cook, maid and friend for about 30 years.” In fine condition.
