President Madison grants John Johnston of Jefferson County, Ohio, a parcel of land consisting of “the south east quarter of section Fifteen of township Eight in range Two of the lands to be sold at Steubenville.” Signed at the conclusion by Madison and countersigned by Edward Tiffin as commissioner of the General Land Office. Paper seal affixed to lower left remains fully intact. Matted and framed to an overall size of 19 x 13. Intersecting folds and some scattered foxing and staining, otherwise fine condition.
