Perhaps best remembered for her role in Jean-Luc Godard’s seminal New Wave classic Breathless, Iowa-born Seberg (1938–1979) was found dead at the age of 40 from a probable suicide by barbiturate overdose. Her support of the Black Panthers attracted the attention of the FBI, leading some to speculate that her radical political ties may have contributed to her decision to take her life. Vintage matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 head-and-shoulders photo, signed in fountain pen. In fine condition, with some light staining along bottom edge, and light postal impressions to left edge.
