Two checks: bank check, 6.5 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Peary, “R. E. Peary,” payable to W. T. Kilborn Co. for $767.34, November 17, 1917, with a notation at the top reading, “(Chinese rugs)”; research indicates the check was originally in the collection of Commander Edward P. Stafford, grandson of Robert E. Peary. Bank check, 6.25 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed by Byrd, “R. E. Byrd,” payable to Porter F. Capper & Son for $6.85, January 13, 1933. In overall very good to fine condition, with a central vertical fold and scattered toning to the Peary check, as well as various expected bank stamps and cancellation holes. RR Auction COA.
