Air mail envelope, 6.25 x 4.5, addressed in Oswald’s hand to his mother: “U.S.A., Box 982, Vernon Texas, Mrs. M. Oswald,” and adding his Moscow return address in Russian, including his name, “Lee. H. Oswald,” also in Russian, at the bottom. Envelope bears two March 29, 1962, Russian postmarks on the front, and an April 9, 1962, Vernon, Texas postmark on the reverse. The envelope bears soft lamination, consistent with other official exhibits that were in the government’s possession during the Warren Commission investigation, and was part of Exhibit 196 of the Warren Commission.
