Letter of introduction for a visiting South American diplomat

LS signed “Danl Webster,” one page, lightly-lined, 8 x 10, March 14, 1851. Letter of introduction to Jacob Burnet in Cincinnati. In part: “Allow me to introduce to you the Chevalier de Macedo, the Minister Plenipotentiary of Brazil…who, to gratify a liberal curiosity, proposes to make a tour of the Southern and Western States. Thanking you in advance for any attentions which it may be in your power to bestow upon him during his stay in Cincinnati.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, a couple passing through portions of signature, and several partial fold separations.
