Description

Declining an invitation to lecture—though money could sway her otherwise

ALS, four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.25 x 7, June 21, 1901. Response to an invitation to lecture in Lincoln, Nebraska. In part: “Let me now say that it will not be possible for me to make that engagement…it would not answer for me to journey far west for one engagement only. If a series of five or six lectures could be arranged for me at, say, one hundred dollars each, I should in all probability be able to attend them.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Howe’s hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
