Western Costume Company Group Lot

Collection of ten costumes and costume pieces. Group consists of: a beige military jacket worn by Mischa Auer in a cut scene from the 1943 film Around the World, with a Western Costume Co. tag sewn inside with Auer’s name written on the second line (patches and insignias have been removed), accompanied by an original RKO promotional photo for the film picturing him in the jacket; a pair of green wool ‘aviator-style’ pants labeled for Nils Asther, believed to have been worn by him in the 1933 film Storm at Daybreak, with a Western Costume stamp and tag on the inside waist, accompanied by a paper copy of a photo of Asther in the same or similar pants; a long-sleeve rust-colored tunic with a Western Costume Co. tag marked “soldier”; a gray velvet jacket trimmed in black and gold braids; with Western Costume Co. tag with illegible typing on it, and stamp inside; a bright orange and blue wool jacket, with leather buckles up the front and ruffled collar and cuffs, with Western Costume Co. tag inside; two pairs of period pants, both with Western stamps; an unmarked blue nautical-type cap; two bright gold lace-up wrist spats; and a light blue military style jacket with a United Costumers label sewn into collar with an unknown name written on it.
