ALS, one page, 7.25 x 9.75, personal letterhead, August 12, 1938. Letter to a Boston antique dealer. In part: “May I extend to you my sincere thanks for the gold-framed engraving showing Detroit in 1846, which you sent as a gift for my seventy-fifth anniversary. This scene is one of special interest to me, and I am please to add it to my collection.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds (passing through but not distracting from signature). An exquisite letter associated with Ford’s two major interests—his development of the Detroit automobile industry and his interest in collecting Americana. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
