Autograph musical manuscript, one page both sides, 7.75 x 8, no date. Unsigned choral sketch in which Mendelssohn pens a score for the words ‘I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake’ (Isaiah 43:25), consisting of ten staves of music and lyrics. The composer’s brother-in-law, Wilhelm Hensel, has penned a note confirming authenticity in the upper right. In fine condition, with scattered foxing and toning, and mounting remnants to reverse edges. Described on page 422 of the new Mendelssohn Bibliography (MWV, 2009) in section Z3 as 'Skizzenblatt 4.'
