Excessively rare signature of the German philosopher

Central figure of modern philosophy (1724–1804) best known for The Critique of Pure Reason. Ink signature, “Ihr gantz ergebener Freund und Diener, I. Kant,” on an off-white 7.25 x 1.25 slip clipped from the close of a letter. Ink notation to left side reads, “Ko¨nigsberg, 1795.” In fine condition, two vertical folds (one touching the first letter of his signature; slight separations professionally repaired on the reverse). Originates from the collection of the German theologist Hermann Dembowski. Of the utmost rarity, this is the first Kant autographic material we have ever offered. RR Auction COA.
