Signed book: Where the Wild Things Are. Later printing. NY: Harper & Row, 1963. Hardcover with dust jacket, 10.25 x 9.25. Signed and inscribed on the half-title page in black ink, “For Elaine Collins, Maurice Sendak, Dec. ’84,” with a rare small sketch of the book’s main character, Max. Autographic condition: very fine. Book condition: VG+/VG. Illustrated paper-covered boards; light wear to edges, with bumps at lower corners/edge; minor rubbing. Dust jacket has mild creasing at corners and spine-ends; light rubbing and soiling; slight sunning/yellowing; one stray pen mark to rear; price-clipped front flap; and a Caldecott Medal affixed to front. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
