TLS, one page, 6.75 x 8.5, Secretary of Commerce letterhead, July 7, 1927. Letter to journalist Frederic William Wile. In full: “This is just by way of expressing thanks for the very kind statement you got out on rubber. It is satisfying to have the public know it when one finally scores on a thing that has created a good deal of criticism. Therefore, I am grateful to you.” Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait of Hoover to an overall size of 21 x 16. Small area of toning and soiling to the lower left, an office notation to the top, and a horizontal mailing fold passing through the signature, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. RR Auction COA.
