Handwritten souvenir lyrics to ‘Sweets for My Sweet’ on an off-white 8.25 x 11.5 lined sheet, signed at the conclusion, “Regards, John McNally, The Searchers.” McNally pens the complete lyrics to “Sweets for My Sweet,” identifying each verse as well as “Key C,” in part: “Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey your kiss thrills me so. Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey, I’ll never let you go.” He adds a note about the song’s history at the bottom, in part: “‘Sweets’ was recorded by The Searchers in the Summer of 1963 at Pye Studios Marble Arch London. It was produced by Tony Hatch and engineered by Ray Prickett.” In fine condition. A great item from the hand of one of the innovators of the Merseybeat sound. RR Auction COA.
