Rare and colorful Abraham Lincoln Stevengraph mourning silk, 2.25 x 10, manufactured in England by Thomas Stevens of Coventry. Printed beneath floral border on top, “Assassinated at Washington / 14 April 1865,” and “I have said nothing but what I am / willing to live by, and if it be the / pleasure of Almighty God, to die by. / (A. Lincoln)” Silk bears a bust portrait of Lincoln encircled by white stars on a field of red, eagle perched on US shield.
