A German physician, writer, and Jewish nationalist (1849–1923), Nordau was instrumental in establishing recognition of Palestine as a potential Jewish homeland. Ink signature and inscription, “Febr. 4th 1904, With kind regards for Miss A. H. Hyman, of New York, respectfully, Dr. M. Nordau,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.5 card.
