Description

Dashing oversized 1941 Clarence Sinclair Bull portrait

Vintage pearl-finish 10 x 13 MGM publicity photo of Gable at a card table and showing off a holstered gun in the 1941 film Honky Tonk, signed and inscribed in green fountain pen, “To Chatty, my sweet. Always, Clark.” Reverse bears a Clarence Sinclair Bull photographer’s stamp and typed caption. Scattered surface creases and impressions, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. An incredible image that perfectly captures Gable’s character as a quick-drawing gambler. Provenance: William Collier Family Collection. RR Auction COA.
