Two items: ALS, one page, 6.5 x 7.75, July 31, 1981. In part: “I studied drawings by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci and later Ingres and Degas—all these out of books of course. I didn’t copy them, I used them mostly to correct my misimpressions…Study Michelangelo and Leonardo (also Rubens). Nobody has drawn so mightily in several hundred years”; and a 7 x 5 card featuring Levine’s work entitled ‘Election Night,’ signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ballpoint.
