Original 8 x 12 imperial cabinet photo by Foulsham and Banfield of London, showing Keane, in costume as Mme Cavalini, posed with William Courtenay in a scene from Romance, the play that skyrocketed her to fame, signed and inscribed in black ink to her couturier, “To Tappe, with many kind thoughts, Doris Keane.” In very good condition, with rounded corners, scattered edge chips and surface loss, some irregular ink adhesion to end of signature and inscription, as well as a couple of brushes to inscription. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
