Description

“I adopted a practice of ignoring people who consider themselves more informed than I possibly can be on every activity which I have ever participated”

TLS, one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, May 16, 1961. Letter to an admirer concerning the public view of his presidency. In part: “I assure you that soon after my name began to appear in the public press I adopted a practice of ignoring people who consider themselves more informed than I possibly can be on every activity which I have ever participated. About these things I do not concern myself, and I would hope that you also would not.” A mild block of toning over signature from previous display, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
