Physician and writer (1829–1914) known for his discovery of causalgia. ALS signed “Weir Mitchell,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, October 1. Letter to an unidentified recipient reads, in part: “People wondering why I am impatient about this nonsense of autograph seeking—The one you ask is the third in one day—It has become a serious addition to the lesser burden of life.” In fine condition, with a few pencil notations to borders.
