Ink endorsement, signed “Nap,” on a one-page LS from the his Minister of War, Clarke the Duc of Feltre, 8 x 9.5, bearing a fantastic watermark portrait of Napoleon crowned in victory laurels, July 3, 1811. Letter regards the incorporation of troops which had been in the Army of Spain into other units; the 64th regiment needs ten sergeants and Clarke asks Napoleon’s permission to draw them from the school of Fontainebleau. Endorsed along the left side, “Accorde, Nap.” In fine condition, with lightly trimmed edges. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
