Early handwritten poem on a lined 6 x 7.5 sheet, signed at the conclusion with his given name, “Marc Feld.” In full: “Terry is the name of a girl / not unlike a million other girls / but / looks by / She’s not beautiful, she’s not ugly / yet her heart shaped face, / smilin resembles the dawn / rainbows, made by the gods, so are / some people / I was, so was / Terry / Terry is the earthname for sweetness.” In very good condition, with complete separation to central horizontal fold, paper loss to lower right (affecting end of signature), and dampstaining to upper right. Accompanied by a small clipped passport photo of Bolan as a young man which was once taped to the poem. Consignor notes that this originates from the Bolan estate. Bolan always considered himself a poet who put words to music, making this an especially fantastic piece—the otherworldly concepts featured in this poem would go on to characterize the lyrics of T. Rex. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
