It spells out for all writers the permanent characters, the transporter, the vessel, the computer, the crew, and the weapons of the crew and of the ship. These are general guidelines and history that all upcoming scripts must follow. Also includes a guide for "Star Trek Format" and "Script Format " has definitions for "The USS Enterprise,” with an extensive bio and character profile for Captain Kirk, as well as the other primary characters. Kirk’s bio reads, in part: "Although Kirk often solicits information and estimates from Spock, never does the first officer act as Kirk's brain… Abroad the ship Capt.
