American Revolutionary soldier (1740–1814) who helped organize the ‘Quaker Blues,’ a company of volunteers. After the war Biddle served as a US marshal in Pennsylvania and made his living as a Philadelphia importer. Two documents: partly-printed DS, one page, 7.25 x 9.5, February 27, 1790. Document orders the payment of net proceeds of the sale of sugar, signed at the conclusion by Biddle as a Notary Public; and a manuscript DS, four sides of two adjoined pages, 8 x 9.5, July 12, 1804. A list of financial transactions and request for amount due to James Delacour. Signed on the last page by Biddle. In very good condition, with intersecting folds to second document, one through a single letter of signature, a few small separations along folds, and scattered toning. RR Auction COA.
