Description

Queen forges on: “Freddie would have wanted us to go out and get on with it, so that’s what we’ll try to do. But life won’t ever be the same”

ALS signed “Brian,” one page, 8.25 x 11.5, Queen letterhead, no date. Letter to “Ronnie” written shortly after the passing of Freddie Mercury. In part: “I think we’re all numb and still in disbelief. Life is full of crap isn’t it. But we should all consider ourselves lucky—them were great days. It all seems so clear in my mind the collection of images from those early days—we had some good ones didn’t we R. F.?!! Freddie would have wanted us to go out and get on with it, so that’s what we’ll try to do. But life won’t ever be the same.” In fine condition, with staple holes to each corner and a few creases, a couple passing through a portion of the signature. Queen did in fact continue, first with The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert held at Webley Stadium, and the release of Made in Heaven, Queen’s last album featuring Mercury, released four years after his death. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
