Despite a travel schedule that could turn him into a “tottering imbecile,” Maugham makes plans with Cukor

ALS signed “Willie,” one page both sides, 5 x 8, Villa Mauresque letterhead, April 9, [1961]. Letter to director George Cukor. In part: “Of course. OF COURSE. If I am in residence…you will always be welcome. We are going to London at the end of this month for a fortnight & then go to Berlin & Munich…It may be that by then I shall be a tottering imbecile, but I know I can trust you to make allowances.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, partially filled out in Maugham’s hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
