Several editions of the Ulster County Gazette, dated January 4, 1800, with articles concerning the death of George Washington, who died on December 14, 1799. Items included are a printed memorial poem, a report on the entombment of Washington “with solemn honors and funeral pomp,” a message sent to president John Adams on the death of Washington, as well as the response by John Adams on December 22, 1799, and other tributes. Central horizontal folds to each section, uniform toning, some chipping and paper loss to a few edges, and dampstaining to top part of each section, otherwise very good condition. RR Auction COA.
