Empress of Russia, 1762-1796. She had her husband murdered, Peter III, and proclaimed herself Czarina in 1762. Empress Catherine II's large white paper and wax seal on an off-white 7 x 4.5 slip. Seal measures 3.25″ in diameter. In very good condition, with uniform toning, some dampstaining, light wear, and a small crack to center.
