Second bishop of Alabama in the Episcopal Church (1816–1900) who was a slaveholder and strongly supported the confederate cause. Original 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite portrait of Wilmer in his vestments by B. Moses of New Orleans, signed in the lower border in black ink, “Rich. H.
