Surgeon in the Confederate Army who served on the staff of Nathan Bedford Forrest and was the uncle of Helen Keller. Original 4 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Eckler of Hot Springs, Arkansas, identified on the reverse in black ink, “Col. J. M. Keller (M.D), Surgeon General, N. G. of Ark.
