Artist (1890–1954) noted for his avant garde graphic design and poster art. Three items: ALS, signed “Ted McK Kauffer,” on a 5.25 x 3.25 deckle-edge postcard, August 30, 1934. Letter to artist Carl Van Vechten reads, in part: “We can hardly wait to get back to London to see the portraits. In the meanwhile we will be here until late September.” Kauffer also adds a notation to the image side, “One of my Leica’s of Walchsee—do you think it is good?—Ted”; another ALS, signed “Ted McK Kauffer,” on a 3.25 x 5.25 picture postcard, September 12, 1934. Another letter to Van Vechten reads, in part: “Here is one of my night Leica’s taken in the village.” Kauffer notes on the image side, “1.9—10 seconds; and a 4.5 x 3.25 photo of Kauffer’s dog in its bed, signed and inscribed in black ink, “For Carl Van Vechten from Tinsy Dom MacKnight Kauffer.” In overall fine condition.
