Highly popular band leader and close friend of George Gershwin. Whiteman, with Gershwin at the piano, introduced ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ to the public in 1924, recording it later that same year. Vintage pearl-finish 11 x 14 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Grace Curren from The Fat Fiddler, Paul Whiteman.” Single tack hole to top and bottom, scattered creases and surface marks, and a bit of light silvering, otherwise fine condition.
