Partly-printed DS, signed “Oliv: Wolcott, Jr.,” one page, 7.75 x 5.5, April 8, 1783. Wolcott orders the payment of £252.7.7 to the widow of Col. John Durkee, “being the Balance found due to him for Service in the Continental Army in the year 1780.” Matted with a photo of Wolcott to an overall size of 8.25 x 10.75. Two vertical folds, one fold passing through a single letter of the signature, and some show-through from docketing, otherwise fine condition. Durkee was a soldier who had distinguished himself at Bunker Hill and went on to lead the 20th Continental Regiment unit of the Connecticut Line. RRAuction COA.
