In part: “Mr. S. has just left, & while my heart was full of gratitude, I write this hasty note asking your acceptance of the enclosed photograph. Be pleased my dear friend to assure Mr. Gillett, that I appreciate his consideration of me & my lamented Husband. How in the evening of life, such remembrances are bright spots, but few of my former associates are remaining, & none hold a higher place in my affections.” A small tear to right edge, a few creases, and scattered toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition.
