Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite three-quarter length portrait of Wool in uniform, by E. & H. T. Anthony of New York, signed in the lower border in black ink, “John E. Wool, Major General.” Ink notation to reverse reads, “Presented to me Oct-21st, 1865, by Gen. Wool at his home—C. O. Greene.” Light scattered surface marks and toning, a ding to the lower right corner tip, and light silvering to dark areas of the image, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
